Opera Mobile 10 for Windows Phone 7

Opera Mobile is a property of Opera Software ASA. Neither Opera Software nor the author of this launcher are responsible for any damage caused by using this app.

Current version of launcher is 1.5
What's new?
  • Better interface
  • Root Tools support.
v1.2
  • Application window gets recreated on the startup if Opera was already opened.
  • Got rid of WindowTreeUpdater, now using system functions directly.
  • Font smoothing
  • Removed some unneeded system calls.
  • Now timeout is 3 seconds.
  • Virtual keyboard (SIP) support improved
Rotation support wasn't implemented in this version. Windows Phone 7 API doesn't support it in fully native apps.

Q&A
What is it?
That's Opera Mobile 10 initially built for Windows Mobile. I've just added an extra layer that makes it running.

Why does it only work on fully unlocked ROMs (like Dynamics ROM)? Isn't developer/interop unlock enough to run it? Can it work with Root Tools?
Developer unlock will let you install xap. Interop unlock will let inbuilt interop library work. Full unlock or Root Tools unlock will let Opera native exe run.

Which ROMs should I use?
Almost all custom ROMs (based on either Dynamics or DFT) or stock ROMs compatible with WP7 Root Tools.

What's countdown made for?
Press "Stop" and check.

When I press "Stop", there is a "Delete internal opera folders" button. Why is it here? I can delete this app like any other WP application...
The reason is that Opera launcher goes beyond the standard isolated store. For example, it creates "\Program Files\Opera Mobile 10" folder. Also it adds some absent libraries to \Windows\.
If you delete Opera launcher "like any other WP application", folders beyond the sandbox will still stay there. So, use "Delete internal Opera folders" button wisely

I have problems with starting it up...
If it Opera launcher's window doesn't appear at all, it means you have no Interop Unlock.
If it throws an error with "Check your unlock state" in the end, it means your unlock isn't enough for running native executables/copying files.

HaRET on WP7

Hi
* Please help keeping the noise level low: Don't ask for ETA (stuff will be anounced), use Thanks buttons to say thx, etc.
* This will work on "fully unlocked" WP7 devices only and is not limited to specific phones
thx, dcordes
HaRET (Handhelds Reverse Engineering Tool) has been used on smartphones and PDAs with previous WinCE (Windows Mobile) versions to

* boot the Linux kernel (=> use Linux based OS like Android)
* obtain information about hardware and software (=> reverse engineering) in order to accordingly modify the Linux kernel (drivers).

Famous HTC devices that are capable of running HaRET are the QSD8250 based HTC HD2 and a wide range of MSM7xxA based phones like the diamond, raphael and touch pro 2.

WP7 is and will be shipped on many devices with quality hardware. In order to be able to run Linux on these, a novel aim is to investigate the use of HaRET on WP7 based devices. WP7 is known to posess several mechanisms to prevent this.

A discussion about the problem has beend started on the official HaRET development mailing list by Jaxbot:
http://lists.linuxtogo.org/pipermail...ry/000150.html
You need to send a subscription mail in order to write to the list. The original creators of HaRET as well as many good developers with low level skills (from XDA: Cotulla, NetRipper, cr2) are subscribed to it but maybe not many of them have access to a WP7 device.

HaRET source code repository with history:

Load and launch RSPL HSPL on Windows Phones

READ THIS
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• We warn you that you do not use HSPL and RSPL with Mozart 4 versions and other RUU Roms with Mango. It may brick your precious windows phone handset and you can end in losing it.

• If you are having HSPL and you are trying to flash RUU signed stock nbh file then you can lose your already present HSPL also.

• The operating systems that are supported are Windows 7 / Vista and Xp.

• If you are trying above methods then you can end losing warranty of your handset. If any day you have to send it to the customer care service department then it should be stock. You should install official stock Rom for that.

Let's GO

DarkForces developers’ team has developed HSPL and RSPL for HTC Windows phones. The smartphones that are supported by the release include Mozart, Gold, Schubert, Mondrian and Spark. Many of these devices support various model ids. If you are a novice then you can go only with installing Reloaded SPL but if you are an advanced developer of Rom then you can further go one step ahead and can install Hard SPL too.

Please check your device that the level of battery is more than 55%. Some people advice to be atleast 50 percent but to be more secure, we recommend to have more than 50 and 55 is fine. The mobile is mandatory to charge prior to following the below procedure as sometimes in secondary program loader (SPL); the device is difficult to charge. Besides this, you should know that direct flashing stock Rom is not possible as stock RUU Roms have RUU_Signed and SPL_Signed nbhs. So, you need to extract the files first and need to remove SPL_Signed nbh file.

Loading RSPL on Windows Phone devices

1. Download Dft RSPL WP7 Fg1 Launch.

2. Run the file.

3. Press ‘Next’.

4. Reset the smartphone.

5. During reset process, press and hold ‘Vol Down’ key so that you enter in OSPL mode.

6. Connect your smartphone to your computer. You should use Usb wire for connecting.

7. You should have Usb drivers installed. Install them if you do not have them.

8. Check is your mobile is showing ‘Usb’ in the bottom, instead of ‘Serial’.

9. Press ‘Next’.

10. Your mobile should be detected now.

11. Under Windows Vista or 7, if you are using WCEUSBHS drivers (such as ‘Magldr Tty’ or ‘Mtty’), you should consider applying ‘Win Xp compatible mode’ in exe properties. This will give you connection.

12. When connection is established successfully, you will see the codename of your smartphone.

13. You can select now the version of OSPL that is installed.

14. On the screen, you can now select the version of OSPL from drop-down. If the version of your secondary program loader is not in the list then you can select the closest version but please note that it should have same initial version number.
For example: If current version is 3.xx, then you cannot select 1.xx and 2.xx.

15. Press the ‘next’.

16. You will reach on the last page.

17. Close it after reading it.

18. Check your device.

19. The device should reboot to RSPL.

20. On the screen, you should have ‘CotullaRSPL’ and ‘RSPLX.Y.Z’.

21. It means that you have successfully loaded RSPL on your windows phone.

Loading HSPL on Windows Phone devices22. On your mobile, launch the RSPL as is mentioned in the steps above.
23. Close RSPL window.
24. Run file downloaded in Step1.
25. Press ‘Next’.
26. Follow Step11.
27. You should see the codename of your mobile device now.
28. Press now ‘Next’ and see if the last page comes.
29. Your mobile will reboot.
30. Reset it.
31. Enter ‘Secondary Program Loader’.
32. You should see ‘HSPLX.Y.Z’ and ‘CotullaHSPL’.
33. You have loaded HSPL on your windows phone device successfully.

Do NOT use RSPL / HSPL with Mozart 4.XX and other RUU ROMS with MANGO.
All WP7F devices affected: MOZART, GOLD, SCHUBERT, MONDRIAN, SPARK!
It will damage your device. Not a joke.
